Q: What could be?Proverbs 29:18
What Your Student Learned

We explored how leaders see what could be, not just what is. We looked at Nehemiah's bold vision and discussed how big dreams require brave first steps. Students drafted a vision for their own sphere of influence.

Why This Matters

Teens can be very present-focused or worried about the future. Vision gives them hope and direction. It helps them make better decisions today because they know where they want to go tomorrow.

This Week's Challenge

First Step: Students broke their big vision down into one concrete action step to take immediately.

Parent Tip: Ask, "What's one thing you dream of doing before you graduate?" Listen without critiquing the practicality of it.

Parent Reflection

Do I encourage my kids' dreams, or am I the "reality check" too often? When was the last time I dreamed big?

Conversation Starters
  • If you knew you couldn't fail, what would you attempt to do?
  • What's one problem in our school/community you wish someone would solve?
  • Who is a visionary you admire (Elon Musk, MLK Jr., a missionary)?
Family Activity (20 min)

Family Vision Board: Grab some magazines or markers and paper. Spend time creating a visual representation of what you want your family to look/feel like in 5 years. Is it adventurous? Peaceful? Serving others? Put it on the fridge.

Prayer Focus
Pray that God would give them a vision for their life (Ephesians 2:10). Ask for faith to trust God with the impossible.
Watch For & Affirm

When they talk about the future with excitement, validate it. "I could totally see you doing that. You have a gift for..."
