We looked at Moses and Jethro to understand that trying to do everything leads to burnout. Leaders delegate. They focus on what only they can do and empower others to do the rest. This multiplies impact.
Many responsible teens fall into the trap of "if I want it done right, I'll do it myself." This limits their leadership. Learning to ask for help and trust others is a key step in moving from a "doer" to a "leader."
The Focus List: Students identified their top 3 priorities and blocked time for them first. They also identified one task to delegate or eliminate.
Parent Tip: Ask, "What are your top 3 rocks this week?" Help them protect that time.
Do I micromanage my kids, or do I delegate responsibility to them (chores, decisions) and let them learn?
The Chore Draft: Re-evaluate household responsibilities. Is mom/dad doing things teens could do? Have a "draft" where family members pick responsibilities that match their strengths/schedule. Empower them to "own" that area.
Notice teamwork. "It was great how you asked your brother to help you with that project instead of stressing out alone."
